Hinton is a small town - what if we see each other outside of therapy?
As a general rule, I always wait for clients to acknowledge me first if we see each other in public. If I don't say hello, it's because I want to preserve your privacy - that means not acknowledging that we have met. Your privacy and confidentiality is very important to me - please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Does a child need permission from both parents to receive services?
Ideally, consent will be given by one parent if parents are married/together, or both parents or guardians if parents are separated/divorced for a teen to receive services. Some situations are complicated and require consideration around parental consent. Please contact me directly if you have questions about your specific situation. Ultimately, my decision to provide service is informed by ethical guidelines and standards of practice of both the Canadian Association of Social Workers and the Alberta College of Social Workers and will always consider what is in the best interest of the youth.
Do I have to climb any stairs to get to your office?
No. The office is located on the ground level with no stairs to enter the building or the office.
Do you offer reduced rates?
I do have some time set aside in my schedule to offer reduce-rate sessions. Please contact me directly if you would like to use this service.
How do you process payments?
I can direct bill to Alberta Blue Cross. I also accept credit cards and e-transfer to pay for services. You can easily and securely enter your credit card information when booking your appointment using my online booking service.
